In short

MowReview is an independent website that helps American homeowners decide whether a robot lawn mower will make their lawn easier, and which kind suits their yard. We don’t test mowers ourselves. We explain, in plain English, what manufacturers publish and what independent testers found.

Why MowReview exists

Robot mowers have changed quickly. A few years ago most of them needed a wire pegged around the edge of the lawn. Today many find their way with satellite positioning, cameras and laser sensors, and the marketing has filled up with words like “AI,” “RTK” and “LiDAR” that most people never asked to learn.

Underneath all of that is a simple question: will this actually make looking after my lawn easier? That depends far more on your yard than on the mower. How big the lawn is, how steep it gets, how many trees shade it, and how it’s split up decide which machines will cope and which will spend the summer getting stuck. MowReview is built around that idea.

Who’s behind it

MowReview is written and run by one independent publisher based in England who builds practical, research-based guides for homeowners. When this site says “we,” it means the publication, not a large team.

MowReview isn’t owned by, or affiliated with, any mower manufacturer or retailer. No brand pays to be included, and no brand pays for a better position on any page.

Why a UK-based publisher writes about American lawns

The information that matters most here isn’t local. Manufacturer specifications, U.S. retailer listings and results from American testing outlets are all public. What’s usually missing is someone patient enough to read all of it, notice where it disagrees, and explain it plainly. That’s the job MowReview does.

Where local knowledge really matters, such as your HOA’s rules or which grass grows best in your area, we’ll point you to the people who know: your HOA, your county’s Cooperative Extension office, or the manufacturer.

Who MowReview is written for

Homeowners who want a tidy lawn without the weekly push. That includes retirees, people with bigger yards, people whose backs or knees have had enough of mowing, and anyone curious about a robot mower who doesn’t want to become a technology expert to buy one.

So the writing is plain, the text is large, and every piece of technology is explained by what it means for someone standing in their own yard.

What MowReview doesn’t do

  • We don’t claim to have tested mowers. When testing is mentioned, it’s someone else’s, and we name who did it.
  • We don’t quote prices. They change too often, and an out-of-date price is worse than none.
  • We don’t invent specifications. Slope ratings, lawn sizes and similar figures come from a named source.
  • We don’t pretend every product is great. Every mower we mention comes with a genuine drawback.

How the site is paid for

MowReview is funded by affiliate commissions. As an Amazon Associate, MowReview earns from qualifying purchases. If you buy through one of our Amazon links, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. It never changes what we say about a product. The details are on our affiliate disclosure page.
