In short
MowReview.com collects very little about you. We don’t have accounts, comments, a newsletter or advertising. We don’t sell your information. What we do collect is described below, along with your rights and how to reach us.
Who we are
MowReview.com (“MowReview,” “we,” “us”) is an independent website run from England, United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK data protection law, MowReview is the controller of the personal information described here. You can contact us about privacy at any time at hellomowreview@gmail.com.
What we collect, and why
When you visit the site
Like every website, our web host automatically records basic technical information when your browser requests a page: your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. We use these server logs only to keep the site running, secure and free of abuse. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating a secure website.
Fonts
Our pages use typefaces delivered by Google Fonts. To show them, your browser connects to Google’s servers, which receive your IP address. Google’s handling of this is described in the Google Privacy Policy. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in presenting the site clearly and legibly.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how many people visit, which pages are useful and how visitors find us. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technology to do this. We use it only to improve the site, never to identify individual visitors or to show advertising.
Where the law requires it, including for visitors in the UK and European Union, analytics cookies are set only after you agree through our cookie notice. You can change your choice at any time using the same notice. You can also block these cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
When you email us
If you email hellomowreview@gmail.com, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and your message. We use them only to reply and to follow up on anything you’ve reported, such as a correction. The email account is provided by Google (Gmail). We keep messages for as long as needed to deal with them, and delete them within 24 months.
Amazon affiliate links
Some links on MowReview go to Amazon.com. When you click one, you leave our site. Amazon may use cookies to record that you arrived from MowReview so it can pay us a commission if you buy something. That information is collected and handled by Amazon under the Amazon.com Privacy Notice. Amazon gives us reports of total sales and commissions. It doesn’t tell us who you are.
Links to other websites
Our guides link to manufacturers, retailers, testers and government agencies. Once you follow a link, that website’s own privacy policy applies.
What we don’t do
- We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for targeted advertising.
- We don’t run ads, and we don’t allow advertising trackers on the site.
- We don’t ask you to create an account or leave comments.
- We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13. The site is written for adult homeowners. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we’ll delete it.

Who else handles information
We share information only with the service providers needed to run the site: our web hosting company, Google (fonts, analytics and email) and Amazon (when you click an affiliate link). Some of these companies store data in the United States and other countries. Where UK data protection law applies, those transfers rely on the safeguards the law recognizes, such as the UK–U.S. data bridge or standard contractual clauses.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- ask what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it;
- ask us to correct it or delete it;
- object to, or ask us to limit, how we use it;
- withdraw consent to analytics cookies at any time.
Residents of U.S. states with consumer privacy laws, such as California, Virginia and Colorado, have similar rights to know about, correct and delete their personal information, and to opt out of its sale. As explained above, we don’t sell personal information. We won’t treat you differently for using any of these rights.
To make a request, email hellomowreview@gmail.com. We’ll respond within one month. Because we hold so little information, we may ask for the email address you used to contact us so we can find your messages.
If you’re in the UK and unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We’d appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Security
The site uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and access to its administration is restricted and password-protected. No website can promise perfect security, but we keep what we collect to a minimum, which limits what could ever be exposed.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, for example by adding a new service, we’ll update this page, and the “Last updated” date at the top will change.
